Xuanyuan Huangdi (轩辕黄帝) is a legendary figure in Chinese mythology and history, also known as the Yellow Emperor. He is considered one of the founding fathers of Chinese civilization and is believed to have lived around 2700 BCE.
Huangdi is credited with many achievements, including inventing the Chinese writing system, establishing a centralized government, and creating the first Chinese calendar. He is also associated with traditional Chinese medicine and is believed to have authored the Huangdi Neijing, a foundational text on Chinese medicine.
Huangdi is revered as a cultural hero and is often depicted as a wise ruler who brought peace and prosperity to his people. While the historical existence of Huangdi is uncertain, he remains an important figure in Chinese culture and is still celebrated today as a symbol of wisdom, strength, and innovation. The Huangdi ceremony, also known as the Yellow Emperor ceremony, is a ritual that honors the legendary figure of the Yellow Emperor, a revered ancestor and cultural hero in Chinese history and mythology. The ceremony is held annually on 3rd March of the lunar calendar at the hometown of the Yellow Emperor.
The Huangdi ceremony is one of the most important events in Chinese culture, and it is attended by members of the public. ACAA has organized the Ceremony for the Yellow Emperor and Praying for World Peace for 8 years in Sydney. The annual event for this year will be held in Marrickville.
